TV5 brings its programs closer to students through School Attack!

As another school year unfolds, TV5 gives a special treat for students with the start of School Attack!, bringing its programs closer to its younger audiences by visiting public and private schools in the metro to entertain and reinforce the good learning habits of thousands of students all throughout the year.

On its first burst, School Attack! is set to visit 10 schools in Metro Manila from July 1 to August 10. Bringing the students’ favorite programs to life right in their learning playground, ANAK-TV seal awardees Barney, Sesame Street, Thomas and Friends, Bob the Builder, as well as Toogs, Lipgloss, and ANIMEGA shows will energize the event through activities such memory match games, poster-making contest, picture puzzles, and more.
Lots of fun booths and activity stalls where students can showcase their talents and skills are set-up around the school grounds or gymnasium, so students should ready their backpacks for tons of special gifts and cool prizes to be given away during the day.

The next school visit will be on July 10 at the Nangka Elementary School, followed by its visit to Elizabeth Seton Integrated School on July 17, Parang Elementary School in Marikina on July 20, Alabang Elementary School on July 24, Pedro Diaz High School on July 27, Holy Family Tondo on July 31, P. Burgos Elementary School on August 3, Almanza Elementary School on August 7, and at Nemisio L. Yabut Elementary School on August 10.

Action and comedy films Stealth and Bean: The Movie on TV5’s 5MAX Movies

Action and comedy adventure movies are on TV5 this rainy weekend with sci-fi thriller film Stealth, from the director of Fast and the Furious and XXX, and the favorite comedy movie with the favorite comedy man Mr. Bean on Bean: The Movie on 5MAX Movies.

Fear the sky on Saturday (June 6) as three pilots struggle to bring an artificial intelligence program under control before it initiates the next world war in Stealth, starring Jamie Foxx, Jessica Biel, Josh Lucas and Sam Shepard. Joey De Leon gives away up to P100,000 on TV5’s Wow Mali! LIVE

For the first time in over 10 years on the air, Joey de Leon is taking Wow Mali! LIVE this Sunday on TV5 on its special episode wherein Joey is giving away up to P100,000 on the “Mahiwagang Tunog” question and answer portion. So far, nobody has correctly answered Joey’s “mahiwagang tunog” questions and it’s about time Joey gives it away. During the show, viewers will hear the “mahiwagang tunog,” and on Joey’s instructions and cue, callers get to guess the answer. The caller who guesses the answer correctly gets to win up to P100,000!

K Brosas, Keana Reeves, and Joy Viado—Mga Komedyanteng Cinderella on TV5’s Shall We Dance LIVE

TV5 shows are rating very well as most of its weekend primetime shows hit its highest ratings last week, including Shall We Dance, hosted by Lucy Torres-Gomez, on its episode featuring Pacmom Mommy Dionisia–who really loved and enjoyed performing in the show. Shall We Dance recorded its highest audience share on its last episode, according to AGB-Nielsen.
On its next episode, fresh from the makeover of Mommy Dionisia into the newest dancing queen, Shall We Dance follows the makeover of comediennes K Brosas, Keana Reeves and Joy Viado into dancing princesses on its LIVE episode with the theme “Mga Komedyanteng Cinderella.”

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood debuts on TV5’s ANIMEGA on May 22

Governed by the theory of “Equivalent Exchange,” Alchemy says that in order to gain anything, something of equal value must be given. Anime lovers all over the country will definitely exchange anything for the Philippine free TV premiere of the most anticipated anime of 2009, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, hitting ANIMEGA viewers starting May 22 on TV5.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, the second TV adaptation of Hiromu Arakawa’s dark fantasy manga, follows two brothers who try to use the power of alchemy to resurrect their deceased mother. TV5 invites everyone to shake the summer heat with the second TV5 LIVE Caravan

As promised, TV5 shakes your summer with hot events and activities to be jump-started by the second wave of the TV5 LIVE Shake Mo TV Mo Caravan. After the successful and much enjoyed primer last January, the LIVE Caravan once again travels on May 1 (Friday), blaring with exciting activities and partying this time at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall from 10 a.m. to 12 midnight.
Everyone is invited to turn the heat up and witness hot performances from TV5 celebrities, live tapings of your favorite TV5 shows, Talentadong Pinoy exhibitions and auditions, and chill music jamming with Moonstar 88 and Parokya ni Edgar.

Admission is free. Fun booths and activity stalls are set-up around the venue so expect to take home lots of cool prizes and surprises after enjoying the daylong event.

TV5 unleashes award-winning anime titles including anime favorite, Cowboy Bebop

Big anime titles invade the local TV scene in the coming weeks as TV5 trots out a new set of exciting anime shows on its third season, featuring the multi-awarded anime, Cowboy Bebop, Special A, Mythic Sleuth Loki, and popular live-action series Masked Rider Hibiki.

Being the only channel that airs popular anime titles on primetime free TV, TV5 rewards all its avid Animega fans with only the best anime shows such as Cowboy Bebop—a sci-fi action anime that won numerous prestigious awards and was ranked number one in the “50 best anime” in the American magazine ‘Anime Insider’ in 2007. Cowboy Bebop has also been adapted into a live-action movie coming soon in theatres, starring Keanu Reeves.

The new set also includes the classic live-action series Masked Rider Hibiki, Special A—an anime adaptation of the manga with the same title involving a group of teen-aged students of a super elite school, and Mythic Sleuth Loki–a mystery adventure anime inspired by Norse mythology.
